How we process your TRN
- Digital intake. You send us your ID scan and details. We fill in your TRN application form and check your notary stamp.
- TAJ submission. We submit your signed, certified application in person at Tax Administration Jamaica.
- Collection. When TAJ issues your TRN letter, we collect the stamped original over the counter and email you a scan.
- DHL dispatch. We send the original letter to your overseas address by tracked courier.
Who this service is for
Jamaicans in the diaspora and non-nationals living overseas (US, UK, Canada, Cayman and elsewhere) who need a TRN for legal or financial business in Jamaica and cannot apply at a tax office in person.
Do I get a plastic TRN card or a letter?
TAJ no longer prints plastic TRN cards. It issues an official stamped TRN registration letter with your 9-digit number, which banks, attorneys and government agencies accept.
Does my ID copy need to be notarised?
Yes. TAJ requires overseas applicants to submit ID copies certified by a Notary Public or a Jamaican embassy or consulate where you live.
How long does it take?
Once we have your signed form and certified ID, TAJ processing typically takes 3 to 5 business days. DHL adds about 2 to 4 business days to reach you.
Do I need a TRN for citizenship or a passport?
No. PICA does not require a TRN for citizenship by descent or a passport. You will need one later for banking, land and motor vehicle business in Jamaica.
